Join MOCA on the first Sunday of every month for MOCA Sunday Stories for storytime, followed by a DIY early childhood art project. Sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, this early childhood program engages toddlers and fosters reading, motor skill development and socialization. MOCA Sunday Stories is also a great way for children to bond with their parents or guardians as they create together.
Inspired by the picture book Freedom Soup by Tami Charles, families will explore themes of heritage, freedom, and family traditions in celebration of Haitian Heritage Month. Children will create their own “Freedom Soup” artwork by illustrating and collaging ingredients that represent comfort, joy, and togetherness in their lives.
Please note, that by registering you are not guaranteed a seat, as our programs are free, they are first come first serve.
To see each workshop, click "Show Individual Events" below.
We ask that participants register all children as well as adults in their group, it helps our staff know how many seats to prepare, thank you!
This free program is made possible by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA). We are also grateful to the Books & Books Literary Foundation for providing our participating families free picture books. To continue to support MOCA and it's free educational programming, please consider becoming a MOCA member!
