Ready, set, create! miniMakers are your opportunity to dive into different art mediums once a month at MOCA. Workshops are for families with children ages 6-12, designed around artists, art history, and current MOCA Exhibitions.
Patterns tell stories...in textiles, architecture, and the everyday objects that surround us. Inspired by the repeating shapes and rhythms in the work of Amanda Linares and Manuela Gonzalez, families will design their own patterned artwork using fabric, foam, and accessories, repeating shapes, colors, and symbols that reflect memories, traditions, and places that feel like home. Along the way, we'll talk about how pattern and repetition carry meaning across many Latinx cultures.

We ask that participants register all children as well as adults in their group, it helps our staff know how many seats to prepare, thank you!
This free program is made possible by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA). We are also grateful to the Books & Books Literary Foundation for providing our participating families free picture books. To continue to support MOCA and it's free educational programming, please consider becoming a MOCA member!
