Ready, set, create! miniMakers are your opportunity to dive into different art mediums once a month at MOCA. Workshops are for families with children ages 6-12, designed around artists, art history, and current MOCA Exhibitions.
In this workshop, families will celebrate Black History Month by exploring identity and storytelling through mixed-media portrait making. Using patterned paper and fabric, participants will build vibrant collaged faces inspired by Bisa Butler’s richly layered textile portraits.

We ask that participants register all children as well as adults in their group, it helps our staff know how many seats to prepare, thank you!
This free program is made possible by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA). We are also grateful to the Books & Books Literary Foundation for providing our participating families free picture books. To continue to support MOCA and it's free educational programming, please consider becoming a MOCA member!
