MOCA Spring Camp

MOCA Spring Camp is a series of paid art classes for children ages 7-12. Spring camp runs from March 20, 2023 to March 24, 2023 for a total of 5 days from 9am- 3:30pm with the option of extended care (8:00am to 5:30pm) for an additional cost.

This year students will explore M-O-C-A NOMI by creating artworks from a variety of mediums and techniques. Join us as we explore what MOCA and North Miami means to us through artistic expression!

Spring Camp Workshops
 
Monday, March 20 - M
M is for magnetic collages! Create your own magnet full of recycled odds and ends. Inspired by Louise Baldwin, students will learn about assemblage art and make their own take home masterpiece.
 
Tuesday, March 21 - O
O is for optical illusion! Create your own Op Art masterpiece. Inspired by artist Nike Savvas, students will create dimensional sculptures using string and popsicle sticks.
 
Wednesday, March 22 - C
C is for cardboard sculptures. Inspired by the Cubist Movement and artist Warren King, students will create their own sculptural animal pieces.
 
Thursday, March 23 - A
A is for abstract, discover abstract artist Norman Lewis, and create your own mysterious abstract work.
 
Friday, March 24 - NOMI
NOMI is for us! Students will create artwork that they feel represents their lives in Miami. Inspired by MOCA and Art on the Plaza, students will imagine what artworks they’d like to see on display, and create their own mini works inspired by Art on the Plaza!
